Female pop/rockers The Aces make a great first impression with “Stuck.” Falling somewhere between Haim and Kita Alexander (with a splash of Tegan and Sara’s retro-synth magic), the Utah-based four-piece deliver relatable pop/rock with a breezy twist. “You move and I don’t really know what to say, too soon am I supposed to feel this way,” lead vocalist Cristal Ramirez laments over perky guitars. “Reach out but I don’t wanna get in your way.”

Confusion bubbles over into frustration when they reach they soaring chorus. “I’m stuck, babe. Stuck with nowhere to go. It cuts, babe. Because we’re just taking it slow.” This is windows-down, road-trip pop at its best. “Stuck” is the first taste of the band’s debut EP, which is due early summer. It will be interesting to hear what else the ladies have up their collective sleeve, but, in the meantime, enjoy their very good first single below.
