Beyoncé & Jay Z May Have Secretly Finished That Joint Album

A few weeks ago, rumors emerged that Jay Z was working on his own response album to Beyoncé‘s Lemonade, and the internet let out a collective “…bruh.” But what if that was just a diversion to throw people off the scent of the long-rumored Bey-Jay joint album? Last night (May 22), Page Six reported that the husband and wife have already “secretly” recorded said album and are prepping its surprise release.

According to the gossip section of the NY Post (which has been wrong before!), “sources confirmed” that their “surprise album is complete, and it will drop on [Jay Z’s] streaming service Tidal very soon.” One source told the paper “Jay and Beyoncé were never going to do an interview to address all the questions that came up after Lemonade. It’s more their style to respond through music.”

For what it’s worth, Beyoncé is currently on tour, so this thing likely would’ve had to have been recorded before that. But the timeline really isn’t the issue, since this whole couple’s album has been rumored since at least 2014 ahead of their joint On The Run Tour.
