Plenty of musicians aim for the “Lynchian” thing, but this visual delivers it: a sole singer on a red stage, masks, weird microphones, the melding of glamour and ugliness. The whole thing exists in some creepy beauty pageant dreamworld, and it only intensifies the effects of Lightman’s lilting melodies.
