After all the teasing, it’s finally here.
Shawn Mendes just released his brand new track “Treat You Better” – the first single off his upcoming still-untitled sophomore album.
This time around, the 17-year-old crooner tries to get the attention of his crush over languid tropical-laden beats. “Cuz I know I can treat you better than he can/ And any girl like you deserves a gentleman/ Tell me why are we wasting time on all your wasted time when you should be with me instead/I know I can treat you better/ Better than he can,” he sings in the song’s infectious chorus.
Mendes also posted a poignant acoustic rendition of the song, which is bound to melt a few hearts.
