Demi Lovato & Wilmer Valderrama Split Up: Read Their Statement
Well, this is surprising. Today (June 4), Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama announced that they have split up after years of dating.
“After almost 6 loving and wonderful years together, we have decided to end our relationship,” their statement reads. “This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends. We will always be supportive of one another. Thank you to everyone who has offered us kindness and support over the years.”
All seemed well between the Confident singer and That ’70s Show actor when the former visited Ellen in February. When host Ellen DeGeneres asked if the couple got engaged, Demi said, “I don’t see a ring. I wouldn’t mind if I saw one. But there is a time for everything. We’ve been together this long and obviously I’m not going anywhere, and vice versa.”
Demi and Wilmer first met in 2010, during a Vote Latino PSA shoot. They didn’t start dating right away, though, because of their 12-year age difference. “He had some hesitations,” she said to Entertainment Tonight.
