Prince Tribute At BET Awards To Include D’Angelo, Janelle Monáe, Sheila E. & More
Moments after Madonna‘s divisive performance honoring Prince at the Billboard Music Awards in May, BET released a brutally shady ad for their own Prince tribute that would take place at the BET Awards. “Yeah we saw that. Don’t worry. We got you,” it declared.

And after talking that mess, the network is ready to back it up, with plans to honor the late legend with a performance featuring D’Angelo, Janelle Monáe, Sheila E. and The Roots. In a tweet, the network announced those artists are “only a few” that will be involved in the tribute. Also, it’s worth noting that Roots drummer Questlove helped produce Madonna’s Prince performance.
