In 2014, Rowan Jones, better known as Route 94, topped the UK chart with his hypnotic house anthem “My Love,” a song that, along with Clean Bandit‘s “Rather Be,” helped put featured vocalist Jess Glynne on the map of pop stardom. And then, well…that was that.

Okay, he has been busy. Jones has spent a large chunk of the past two years touring around the globe doing DJ gigs, plus working on new music. In fact, three new songs are available now as part of the free Brand New Day EP from Fabric London, which you can hear below.

“I’ve got tons of music I’ve made over not just the last year, but two or three years that’s just all sort of congregated in my computer,” Jones tells Fabric London in a new interview. “I’ve been learning all my new equipment, all my new hardware, my synths, my drum machines, just geeking out massively. I’ve been moving studios as well which was a massive change as I’ve never done that before. Working with singers as well has made me wanna do more than just put out club records in a sense. It’s made me wanna branch out and sort of push my musical abilities as far as I can.”

Three songs make up Route 94’s Brand New Day EP. The real attention-grabber, if you ask us, is the nine-minute house journey “Take Off.”
