Lorde Co-Wrote Broods’ New Single “Heartlines”: Listen
New Zealand sibling duo Broods are fast approaching the June 24 release of their sophomore album, Conscious, which contains two highly anticipated cuts in the form of a Tove Lo duet and a Lorde writing credit. And the latter is here, having just premiered with Zane Lowe on Beats 1.
“Heartlines” was co-written by Lorde, and it certainly shows with the way singer Georgia Nott echoes some of her fellow New Zealander’s cadences and smokey vocal affectations. But it has a bright, cinematic flair — particularly on the chorus — that fits with Broods’ sonic identity and keeps it from being Lorde karaoke.
