Jarryd James teams up with Broods for new single “1000x,” which arrives on Friday (June 18). The rising Australian singer/songwriter, who landed a double platinum smash hit at home and nabbed a US record deal with “Do You Remember,” has been fairly quite since the arrival of his critically-acclaimed debut LP Thirty One in late 2015. The album was never released in the US (we got an EP instead), so this could either be the first taste of his sophomore set or part of an international release.

So how did the Broods collaboration come about? Well, Jarryd supported the Kiwi duo on their 2014 tour and they’re both part of Joel Little’s (Lorde’s producer) growing stable of Australian and New Zealand hitmakers. The 31-year-old shared a very brief snippet of the song on Twitter and it sounds like a lush, but typically moody affair. Listen to a preview below.
