Leona Lewis' 'I Am': Album Review
Leona's new album seems to be about more than just showcasing her voice.

Leona Lewis has reportedly been dropped by her UK label after the disappointing commercial performance of fifth LP, I Am. “It simply didn’t work out with Island [Records],” a source told The Mirror. “She made a great record and the label really championed her but something just didn’t click.” To be specific, lead single “Fire Under My Feet” stalled at number 51 at home, while the album peaked just outside the top 10 at number 12.

Things were even more bleak in America. I Am barely dented the top 40 (it debuted at number 39) and then disappeared. Those chart placings aren’t bad for a newcomer, but it’s something of a comedown from her mega-selling debut LP Spirit. There has been no word about Leona parting ways with Def Jam in the US. In fact, she was still promoting the album as recently as May with a performance on Dancing With The Stars.
