Pop Perspective: Xtina's "Change"
Christina Aguilera's new single is the latest pop event to be dragged under the Idolator microscope.

Before Kevin Liobl fatally shot singer Christina Grimmie outside her June 10 concert in Orlando, she was ready to embrace him. That is according to Christina’s brother Marcus, who tackled Kevin to the ground, before the shooter killed himself.

“All the rumors are true that when the gunman came … her arms were open,” Marcus said during Christina’s June 17 memorial service, according to Us Weekly. “That’s how she treated everyone she knew — her arms were open for them.”

Christina, who was on tour with pop-punk outfit Before You Exit, was greeting fans and signing autographs when Marcus approached her, armed with two guns and a knife. She died five hours later at age 22.

Christina’s parents also spoke during the service in Evesham Township, New Jersey. “To anybody who says that I’m strong, I want you to know that I’m the weakest person here and I declare my dependence on Jesus Christ because I don’t have anything else,” said her mother, Tina.

Prior to the gathering, Christina’s family also released a video honoring the singer’s rise. Watch below.
