Fergie Shares A Second Snippet Of New Single “Hungry”
I love Fergie and would be counting down the days to Double Dutchess (if we had a release date), but her comeback has been an unnecessarily messy affair. From the huge gap between “L.A. Love (La La)” and the first snippet of “Hungry,” which arrived a month ago, to husband Josh Duhamel randomly dropping information in interviews, everything feels a little haphazard. We already know too much for it to be a surprise album, so why the confusion and mystery? On the bright side, the music sounds very promising.
The first preview of “Hungry” indicated that Fergie was coming for necks. With its dark trap beats and eerie chants, there’s nothing safe about The Black Eyed Peas singer’s comeback track. Today’s (June 22) snippet gives more context. “Sick. Hungry. Starving,” she declares over a veritable trap opera. “Not thirsty. Just hungry. Ambitious.” The message is clear. The 41-year-old isn’t releasing another album just to pass the time. She’s here to push boundaries and shake things up. If only we knew when it was happening.
