Solange’s New Album Is Done

Solange turned 30 today, and in her own lengthy, empowering birthday post on Instagram she slipped in news that will delight pop geeks: “Completed 4th album (72 hours before turning 30).”

Expectations are high, since her last release was 2012’s True EP and that thing helped define the sound of 2010s cool-pop and influenced artists like Carly Rae Jepsen, in addition to raising the profile of Dev Hynes.

They can talk, they can doubt, and they can say what they wanna, but only you have the words to narrate this ting we call life. So much gratitude for all of your wishes. So much gratitude for love.
