Hear Rihanna’s New Sia-Penned Song “Sledgehammer”
Rihanna is back with new song “Sledgehammer,” the title of which has Fifth Harmony stans up in arms (PSA to you youngsters: Peter Gabriel did it before both of ’em). It’s off the Star Trek: Beyond soundtrack, and it was written by Sia — as you may remember, the last time these two worked together it resulted in Rihanna’s No. 1 hit “Diamonds.”
“Sledgehammer” is a big, colossal anthem fit for a blockbuster, with Rihanna singing “I hit a wall, I never felt so low…You’re just another brick and I’m a sledgehammer,” showing off the full range of her voice. Like “Diamonds,” it highlights some of her vocal similarities with Sia.
