Cloves On Coachella & Her Debut LP
We speak to rising artist Cloves about her Coachella debut & first album.

Cloves generated huge buzz in 2015 with sparse, forlorn ballad “Don’t You Wait” and then backed it up with stellar debut EP, XIII — a haunting four-song set that showcases her melancholy vocals. Given her knack of pulling heartstrings, the Australian singer/songwriter was a perfect choice for the soundtrack of blockbuster tearjerker, Me Before You. Her haunting track “Don’t Forget About Me” has been latched onto by moviegoers and is sure to win many more fans with the arrival of the cinematic video.

Kaity Dunstan (her real name) wanders around a desert landscape in the beautifully-filmed clip, looking suitably lonely. It’s restrained and somehow timeless, just like her music. Speaking of which, we should be getting some new tunes in the not-too-distant future. At Coachella, Cloves promised a second EP and revealed that she’s been working with some impressive names on her debut album. “We did some work with Paolo Nutini’s band,” the newcomer revealed. “I’ve got my core guys that are. They are Justin Parker, Starsmith and Rich Cooper.”
