Just in time for Mother's Day, Jennifer Lopez is out to tell the patriarchy who's boss.

Selena is about to be honored in a big way. On June 28, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that the Latin pop superstar will receive her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this year.

This honor comes more than 20 years after Selena’s death, after being fatally shot at the height of her career at 23. She was famously portrayed by Jennifer Lopez in her 1997 eponymous biopic.

The Chamber of Commerce even made an exception to include her in this year’s class: While only one posthumous award is typically given each year, both Selena and American composer Jerry Goldsmith, who died in 2004, will be inducted.
