Wonder Girls Go Reggae On Catchy New Single “Why So Lonely”

After a three-year hiatus, the Wonder Girls returned in 2015 with third LP, Reboot. The retooled girl group embraced ’80s pop on the opus and bragged about becoming “a real band” (despite the fact that they didn’t play any instruments on the album). K-Pop’s finest bounce back this week with new single “Why So Lonely” and another major sound overhaul. This time around, the “Nobody” hitmakers dabble in reggae. To surprisingly great effect.

“Why So Lonely” finds the quartet in an unusually dour mood. “Tell me what’s on your mind,” the ladies sing (in Korean) over breezy Caribbean rhythms. “I love you but I don’t know why I feel suffocated.” They also pout up a storm in the brilliant video, which finds one member vomiting glitter. The song shouldn’t work at all, but it’s actually one of the group’s catchiest efforts to date. Oh and it looks like their instruments are more than props this time — at least given the songwriting credits. Fall in love with Wonder Girls latest below.

The tracklist of “Why So Lonely”:

1. Why So Lonely 2. 아름다운 그대에게 (To The Beautiful You) 3. Sweet & Easy
