Youngsters from the LGBTQ community fill Tegan And Sara‘s video for Love You To Death cut “Faint Of Heart,” impersonating such pop icons as Elvis Presley, David Bowie, Grace Jones, Madonna, Prince and even Tegan and Sara Quin themselves. The adorable clip was shot by director Devon Kirkpatrick on June 13, the day after the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

Speaking to Teen Vogue about the video, Tegan said, “First and foremost we just hope it reaches LGBTQ people and makes them feel realized. Some of the themes of the video — mentorship, finding community, expression, bravery — are things you see so many LGBTQ youth actively pursuing in order to thrive. We need to be strong against a lot of hate in this world.”

Back in May, Tegan also spoke to Idolator, and described the period during which she wrote “Faint Of Heart” and Love You To Death track “That Girl”:

I was in Palm Springs and I wrote “Faint Of Heart” on acoustic guitar the day before. I was in a house. You know, I’ve lived in an apartment since the day I graduated high school except for the six months I wrote The Con, so it was so nice to be in a house and play guitar and be loud. I’d spent the whole day with an acoustic guitar, and with “That Girl” I wanted to do something that was very electronic feeling.
