The Chainsmokers & Halsey Find Romance On “Closer”: Watch The Lyric Video
Pop bad girl Halsey links up with production duo and, by now, consistent hitmakers The Chainsmokers on the highly anticipated single “Closer.” In a bit of a twist, the duo’s Drew Taggart shares vocal duties for the first time, and he kicks things off with the first verse about reconnecting with a lost love.
The “New Americana” singer plays out the other side of the story, and they come together on the refrain “We ain’t ever getting older” alongside a swaying synth melody. It’s not as immediately huge as the pair’s Daya hit “Don’t Let Me Down,” but the midtempo number does feel like the sort of thing that’ll burrow into your head.
