That Drake-Eminem Battle Royale Isn’t Going To Happen
Rap Twitter exploded yesterday (August 3) after Hot 97 host Ebro Darden relayed a story about how Eminem was gearing up to release a Drake diss track, spawning from Drake’s Joe Budden beef. “I told Drake that the rumor was that Eminem was gonna come up to gear after him,” Ebro said. “And he laughed, and he was like, ‘That’s not gonna happen.’ He was like, ‘He’d never do that. And if he did, I got something for him, too.'”
Welp, all interested parties backtracked (coincidentally, Ebro, Em and Drake are also Apple Music partners in some capacity). Em’s manager chalked it up to a slow news day…
Slow news day I see.

Ebro said it was all in jest…
It was such a joke and people ran with it… Slow news day. Drake got too much respect for all that… https://t.co/fzq1WnwRbb

And, as MTV points out, this morning Drake played it off as a trumped-up media myth, with the help of a line off VIEWS (“If they don’t have a story these days, they’ll make one”).
It would’ve been rap’s biggest feud since the Kendrick-Drake one threatened to throw the hip-hop universe into disarray. But instead of a blockbuster, we’ll have to settle for Drake beefing with hip-hop B-listers again.
