Katy Perry Takes Flight In Epic “Rise” Video
Nobody does uplifting better than Katy Perry. From “Firework” to “Roar,” the 31-year-old has cornered the market on serotonin-raising pop. The Pied Piper of good vibes lifts the bar even higher with “Rise” — a soaring electro-ballad that urges you to keep your head up and persevere when things get tough. As such, it’s the perfect choice to soundtrack NBC’s coverage of the Rio Olympics. One listen to this ditty and you can’t help but try a little harder.
The video arrived this afternoon (August 4) and it finds Katy battling with a parachute — all while dressed in a Lara Croft-tastic jumpsuit. The Prism diva is desperate to take flight, but nature won’t play along. There are various mishaps (she almost falls off a cliff and drowns in the ocean), before her persistence finally pays off.
