Mariah Carey’s ‘Empire’ Cameo Is Happening This Fall
Last summer, Empire creator Lee Daniels announced that Mariah Carey would appear on his hit show. Then season 2 came and went with no Mimi — but today (August 8) a Fox exec confirmed Carey will cameo on the new season, according to EW.
The iconic diva will appear in the October 5 episode, playing a singer named Kitty who works with Jamal (Jussie Smollett) on an “explosive new song.” The timing couldn’t be better, since Carey’s reality show Mariah’s World premieres on E! just a couple months later.
Kid Cudi, French Montana and Birdman are among the other real-life musicians who will have guest roles this season, which premieres September 21 on Fox.
