Rihanna’s Next Single Is (Probably) “Love On The Brain”

Battle Of The Underboob: Rita Vs. Rihanna
Was Rita Ora's new tattoo inspired by Rihanna's underboob ink? Twitter thinks so.

Rihanna’s ANTI era feels like it’s been going for 10 years (probably due to the endless buzz singles and messy rollout), but we’re technically only up to single number four after “Work,” “Needed Me” and “Kiss It Better.” What’s next? Retro ballad “Love On The Brain” — at least, according to Philadelphia radio personality Mike Adam. (He claimed to have the exclusive on Twitter). It’s an interesting choice. RiRi performed the track at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards, so it’s obviously a frontrunner, but is The Navy ready for another downtempo track?

The problem is that there isn’t much else to chose from with radio appeal. I like her version of Tame Impala’s “Same Ol’ Mistakes,” but it might be a little too offbeat. That leaves us with “Sex With Me,” which is a strong candidate given its streaming popularity, and maybe “Yeah, I Said It.” In any case, Rihanna is expected to announce her next single shortly. With any luck, she’ll also perform it at the upcoming MTV VMAs. See Mike Adam’s tweet below and watch “Love On The Brain” live (bottom of post).
