Lady Gaga Talks "Perfect Illusion"
Lady Gaga says her new single, "Perfect Illusion," is about "modern ecstasy."

Lady Gaga has tweeted her support for Italy in the wake of a devastating earthquake, which has cost the lives at least 120 people. “Praying for the people in Italy who are suffering from earthquake,” Mother Monster wrote. “My family will make a donation to help repair these beautiful cities.” It’s a tragedy close to the pop star’s heart. She is of Italian heritage (real name Stefani Germanotta) and her parents own and run an Italian restaurant in New York City.

In addition to her humanitarian efforts, Gaga is gearing up to release comeback single “Perfect Illusion.” The track, which was produced by Kevin Ronson and Tame Impala maestro Kevin Parker, is expected to arrive in September and has an unusual subject matter. “The song is about modern ecstasy,” the 30-year-old said at the recent iHeartRadio Music Summit. “We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it.” See her tweet below.
