Ariana Grande Accused Of Plagiarism
Rising producer Mura Musa thinks "Be Alright" rips off his 2015 song "Firefly."

It’s been a tough week for pop divas. Demi Lovato was slapped with a lawsuit on Monday (August 22) for allegedly ripping off Sleigh Bells and now Ariana Grande finds herself in a similar situation. Songwriter Alex Greggs is suing the “Dangerous Woman” hitmaker for copying a track he penned for Skye Stevens in 2012 called “Takes All Night.” His argument? “The similarity between ‘Takes All Night’ and ‘One Last Time’ is so striking that it is highly likely the works were not created independently of one another,” he asserts in court documents.

David Guetta, Rami Yacoub, Carl Falk, Universal Music Group and Republic Records are also listed in defendants in the lawsuit. This isn’t the first time Ariana has been accused of plagiarism. She was sued in 2013 for infringing the copyright of ’70s classic “Troglodyte” on breakthrough hit “The Way” and was called out again earlier this year by rising producer Mura Masa. (He commented on similarities between “Be Alright” and his 2015 song “Firefly” on Twitter).
