An Update On Emeli Sande's Sophomore Album
Emeli Sande's long-awaited sophomore LP is almost finished. Find out more.

Emeli Sande has been chipping away at her sophomore LP for what feels like an eternity, but the follow-up to Our Version Of Events is almost here. The Brit shared a snippet of a new track called “Intermission” on social media this afternoon (August 25) and it’s a borderline spiritual experience. “Sometimes you gotta close your mouth to let the words speak clearly, sometimes you have to close your eyes to let the sun coming shining,” she sings on the hymn-like anthem. “Sometimes we’re all gonna need an intermission.”

Expectations for Emeli’s new project are sky high. That’s what happens when your debut album delivers six hits and sells more than two millions copies in the UK alone. In fact, it was so successful that she ranked as the country’s highest-selling artist for two consecutive years (2012 and 2013). The 29-year-old couldn’t quite match that success in America, but she landed a sizable hit with “Next To Me,” which peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. Listen to a snippet of “Intermission” below.

Inhale, exhale, release and let yourself receive forgiveness. September 2016
