The 2016 MTV VMAs Nominees
Beyonce leads the field at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards with 11 nominations.

One of the most-anticipated MTV VMAs in recent history is set to unfold tonight (August 28) at New York’s famous Madison Square Garden with Rihanna, Britney Spears and maybe even Beyonce taking the stage. While that line-up is generating serious buzz, less attention has been paid to the distribution of awards. Will Queen Bey take home the prestigious Video Of The Year gong for shining a light on serious social issues in “Formation” or does Drake get the prize for simply dancing in a room in 2016’s most meme-worthy visual? We’ll know soon enough when the ceremony kicks off at 9 p.m. ET.

Be sure to circle back tonight to find out who won what as we’ll be updating this post in real time. And if you need a refresher, here’s the full list of nominees. May the best woman or man win!
