Nelly Furtado To Drop New Album This Year
Nelly Furtado's sixth LP has a November release date according to a new article.

EDIT: Post updated with live video (bottom of post)

While information about Nelly Furtado’s sixth LP is still hard to come by, a couple of interesting tidbits have come to light. For starters, a Canadian newspaper revealed that it has a November release date (this has never been officially confirmed) and the deluxe edition contains a track called “Island Of Me.” I know this because she tweeted about it this afternoon (September 7). “Yep title of next song from deluxe coming next…. and soon… I’ll perform it tonight,” she confirmed, before elaborating: “It is about narcissism, lust, isolation and altruism.”

The 37-year-old will debut the track at The Standard tonight as a part of New York Fashion Week. As yet, “Islands Of Me” is the only confirmed song on the opus. Slinky, retro groove “Behind Your Back” is simply “a palette cleanse… an appetizer” for the album, while her lovely acoustic cover of Calvin Harris’ “Feels So Close” is a Spotify exclusive to keep fans occupied. She hasn’t even dished on collaborators, but it’s a safe bet that Dev Hynes is somehow involved. They collaborated on Blood Orange’s “Hadron Collider” and hung out together at FYF Fest 2016. See the hitmaker’s tweets below.
