Demi Lovato Reveals She Co-owns A Mental Health Treatment Center During New Interview

During a chat with weekend morning program CBS Sunday Morning that airs on September 11, Demi Lovato reveals that she is now a co-owner of CAST Centers, the Los Angeles mental health and wellness facility that the pop star herself received treatment at in 2013. Broadway World reports that after seeking help from CAST three years ago because of depression, bulimia and substance abuse, Demi took Mike Bayer, CEO and founder of CAST, on the road with her over the summer during her Honda Civic Future Now Tour with Nick Jonas.

“I mean, I was a nightmare,” Demi tells CBS Sunday Morning‘s Tracey Smith while describing her 2013 arrival at CAST, per Broadway World. “I would say the word that I want to say, but it’s so inappropriate that I can’t. And this will be on a Sunday morning, so I’m not going to say it.”

Following her treatment, Lovato released 2015 LP Confident, which yielded Platinum singles in the forms of “Cool For The Summer” and the album’s title track. She and pal Jonas have been touring the country since June (and will finally wind down in October), and Demi also made an appearance at the Democratic National Convention in July, during which she showed support for presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and spoke about mental illness.

“It sounds ridiculous, but I kind of made a pact with God,” Lovato says in her upcoming interview. “And I don’t even think you’re supposed to do that, but I promised, ‘If You make me a singer one day, I’m going to use my voice for so much more than singing, and I’m going to help people with it.'”

CBS Sunday Morning airs from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Sundays.
