June’s Diary Announce Promo Tour
June’s Diary is about to embark on a promo tour. The ladies, who were carefully brought together by Kelly Rowland on BET reality series Chasing Destiny, kick things off in Philadelphia on September 27 and then stop in New York, Los Angeles and Oakland, CA. Given that the group has only released two songs, expect the setlist to peppered with covers and (hopefully) new material. They have gone a little quiet since dropping fiery debut single “L.A.N.C.E.,” so it will be interesting to hear what they have been cooking up in the studio.
If that song and soulful buzz track “All Of Us” are any indication, Shyann Roberts, Kristal Lyndriette, Brienna DeVlugt, Ashly Williams and Gabrielle Carreiro are busy reinventing the slick, sensual vibe of ’90s R&B. “I felt like there was a void for a girl group in the music industry,” Kelly told the New York Post of June’s Diary. “There were so many girl groups back in the day and now there are only two,” she continued, referring to Fifth Harmony and Little Mix. “I want to show that women can get back to making money together.” It looks like she achieved her goal.
