Wrabel’s “11 Blocks” stands out like a sore thumb on radio among all the perky bangers and party jams. A gut-wrenching piano ballad about (not) coming to terms with the end of a relationship, the singer/songwriter’s sincere approach is a breath of fresh air. Which is probably why it has been so warmly received by music fans and fellow pop stars. “He’s my favorite new artist,” Kesha raved on Instagram. “I’ve had this single on repeat for the last 6 months. It’s breathtaking.” Chances are, you’ll feel the same way after watching the video (above).

There’s not much of a narrative to speak of. It’s just Wrabel strolling the streets, looking miserable. That is, when he’s not sitting at his piano belting out the song. Be prepared. This could bring on feelings. While “11 Blocks” is the 27-year-old’s first single with Epic Records, he released an EP in 2014 called Sideways and teamed up with Afrojack for club smash, “Ten Feet Tall.” Stephen (his real/first name) is hitting the road this fall as part of Andy Grammer and Gavin DeGraw’s joint North American tour.
