Dragonette Teases 4th LP ‘Royal Blues’ With Dreamy Banger “Sweet Poison”

Dragonette can do no wrong at the moment. From the euphoric electro of 2015’s “Let The Night Fall” to the surprising ska beats of this year’s “Lonely Heart,” everything the Canadian trio touched has turned to gold. And the winning streak continues with new single “Sweet Poison” — the latest taste of the band’s just-announced 4th LP, Royal Blues (due November 11). This track finds Martina Sorbara & the boys exploring dreamy, late-night disco with a little help from Dada. “You play with my mind, I mess with your time,” she sings on the chorus. “We’re two wrongs that won’t make a right.”

There’s a healthy dose of melancholy hiding behind the lush synths as the singer comes to terms with her bad romance. “Sweet Poison” is destined to be a highlight of Dragonette’s live show. Their upcoming North American tour kicks off in Waterloo, ON on November 9 and then crosses the continent before winding up in Boston, MA on December 11. (Check out all the dates here). See the full tracklist of the trio’s very promising 4th LP below and fall in love with their latest gem at the bottom of the post.
