Kid Cudi left G.O.O.D. Music on good terms, but then he complained about being underutilized on Cruel Summer and Yeezus, so it seemed like his relationship with mentor Kanye West may be going sour. But then he not only ended up back on West’s next album, The Life Of Pablo, but was in a memorable photo with his arm around West at the Madison Square Garden listening party (see above). All seemed to be normal. Until yesterday (September 14). Cudi went on a Twitter rant calling out rappers who “talkin top 5 and be having 30 people write songs for them,” eventually naming Drake and West, saying “My tweets apply to who they apply. ‘Ye, Drake, whoever. These niggas dont give a fuck about me. And they aint fuckin with me.”

Well, Kanye did not like that at all! The superstar hasn’t really provided fans with any of his stream of consciousness speeches during this Saint Pablo tour, but last night in Tampa, he responded to Cudi with one.

“Kid Cudi, don’t ever mention Ye name. I birthed you!…Don’t ever say who I can do songs with,” he starts. “I’m so hurt. I feel so disrespected. Kid Cudi, we two black men in a racist world. I wore skinny jeans first. I got called names before you, bro. Why y’all gotta be coming at me? This ain’t the end of the Malcolm X movie. I’m out here fighting for y’all. Creatives. Artists. Independent thinkers. Don’t ever mention my name in a bad manner! None of y’all!”
