Someone did Emeli Sande wrong, and she is not going to go quietly into the night about it. Stings, handclaps, a dramatic choir and Sande’s own powerhouse vocals abound in “Hurts,” the lead single from the Scottish singer’s sophomore album Long Live The Angels (out November 11).

“This entire album is about me not holding back and not censoring myself, and ‘Hurts’ is an explosion, it’s just…real talk,” Sande explains in a press release for her upcoming album. This also marks the Brit Award-winner’s first single as a lead artist in four years.

Long Live The Angels was recorded in New York, Los Angeles, London and Oxford. Get an idea for what to expect from the album by listening to Emeli’s new single “Hurts” above.
