Is Solange’s New Album Called ‘A Seat At The Table’?
Well, that didn’t take long. Solange teased new music via Snapchat last week — hinting at the imminent arrival of album number four. According to a mysterious new book the 30-year-old sent 86 fans, the project appears to be called A Seat At The Table and has a September 30 release date. As in this Friday. The (soon-to-be) extremely collectible hardback tomb includes poetry, lyrics and stunning photos. Why only 86 copies? That’s the year of her birth and we know the Knowles sisters take numerology very seriously.
While we wait for confirmation about the cool-pop pioneer’s new opus, let’s revisit the new snippet. It doesn’t give too much away, but it sounds like Solange is still exploring hazy alt-pop — albeit with vintage R&B influences thrown into the mix. The clip was accompanied by footage of the “Losing You” diva covered in metallic paint. At this point, A Seat At The Table (if that is the title) is shaping up to be a brilliantly-curated multi-media affair. See more pics of the hitmaker’s promo book below.
