MNEK Asks Who’s Really Singing On Britney Spears’ Latest Album ‘Glory’

Britney Spears isn’t really having an easy go of it with her latest album, Glory. First, fans of the “Make Me” singer were less than thrilled with the official video for said song when it finally premiered in the summer, following a somewhat delayed release and a scrapped first attempt at the visual. Then the album missed out on a #1 debut, dropped out of the Top 10 after one week and, a month later, it’s pretty much stiffed on the Billboard 200 — where, it its fourth week on the chart, Glory is floundering at #66.

Today fellow artist MNEK decided to add insult to injury by questioning whether or not it’s actually Spears’ voice we hear on the LP. The British singer-songwriter tweeted this morning, “is it fair to ask who actually IS singing on this new Britney album or shady?”

Why MNEK would want to stir up Britney’s loyal legion of followers is anyone’s guess, especially since the “Never Forget You” crooner himself was on the butt-end of a pop feud earlier this year with Azealia Banks. (“i only offered you dinner b/c we wanted to see if you would give one of my boys a blow job,” Banks tweeted at MNEK in May. “I don’t really care about you or ur art. I’m sorry for lying and leading you on.”)

Whatever the case may be, MNEK, who’s penned songs for the likes of Madonna, Beyonce, Zara Larsson, Little Mix and JoJo over the past few years, has already begun to feel the sting of Spears’ rabid Brit Army on Twitter.
