Cruel Youth’s “Diamond Days”: Watch The Trippy Video

Nearly half a year after the premiere of Cruel Youth‘s “Diamond Days,” there’s now a video to accompany the retro-sounding pop-soul track. This is, in fact, the latest project from Teddy Sinclair (and her husband, Willy Moon), who’s written songs for Madonna and Rihanna, and who you might recall in a previous incarnation as Natalia Kills.

Back in April we described “Diamond Days as a mish-mash” of Amy Winehouse by way of Lana Del Rey doing 1960s girl group pop. There are bells and sugary-sweet melodies galore, plus, of course, Sinclair’s old-school inflection.

See if the above video adds an extra dose of zest to the haunting song for you. If you like what you hear, you can stream or pick up Cruel Youth’s just-released debut EP, +30mg.
