Chris Brown Gun Case Reportedly Ready To Be Dropped

Back in August, Chris Brown had a momentary monopoly on the news cycle when cops surrounded his house after a woman claimed the star pointed a gun at her on his property. For nearly 12 hours, the singer refused to comply with police, and instead protested the accusations in a series of social media videos from inside the house. When he did eventually surrender, he was booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

Immediately after the arrest, details emerged about the accuser that called into question her entire story. And now, TMZ reports that cops are ready to drop the case altogether: “[Brown] was supposed to be arraigned 2 weeks ago but authorities got a 2-week extension so they could gather more evidence. They didn’t.” The site’s sources claim the combination of an unreliable accuser and a lack of evidence pinning the gun to Brown has all but closed the case.

I would say to go back and watch Brown’s IG videos from that day that now seem to vindicate him, but they’ve since been deleted.
