Mary J. Blige Announces New Single “Thick Of It”
Leave Mary J. Blige alone! Ever since that unfortunate Burger King commercial, the R&B legend has become something of a punching bag on social media. Admittedly, she didn’t help things any with that unintentionally hilarious sit-down with Hillary Clinton — but enough with the mocking! (Although you should probably check out the video of her dancing to Solange’s “Cranes In The Sky” because it’s magnificent). The 45-year-old is hoping to change the conversation by releasing a new single called “Thick Of It.”
While this is technically a surprise single, the “No More Drama” diva has already performed it in concert. And from the live videos on YouTube, “Thick Of It” sounds like vintage Mary J. “You know I deserve more than this, I do,” she sings on the old-school soul ballad. “So tell me who’s gonna love you like I do?” If this is any indication, the veteran might have got her groove back. There’s no word yet if this is the first taste of her 13th studio album or a stand-alone single. See her latest viral moment and announcement below.
