You Tried It: The Good, The Bad & The Bruno Mars Of This Week’s Reader Comments

A lot of stuff has happened this week. Kid Cudi checked himself into rehab for depression, Kanye and Kim Kardashian are together and safe following Kim’s horrific incident in Paris and Drake has postponed a few upcoming shows due to an ankle injury. In addition, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, and Dawn Richard all released music this week.  And we might even be getting our hands on some new tunes from Jennifer Lopez, too.

Here at Idolator, we spoke to JoJo, Jon Bellion, and Ferras, as well as reviewed Solange‘s A Seat At The Table and One Republic‘s Oh My My. Lastly, we’ve also unveiled a *tremendous* roundup of alt-pop jams in our latest edition of Silent Shout.

The Truest Monster: Justin L. Whitley

In our latest Lady Gaga Pop Perspective, we were evenly split in our thoughts on her new single “Million Reasons.” But Justin, here, remains a devoted Monster through and through.

Below are some other reactions to our review of Gaga’s folksy ballad.

blaaack: “I don’t understand Gaga – why country? When you call pull a POP ballad. Guess she wants to probe in every kind of genre. You won’t get more fans – it’s a perfect illusion – at least you will lose your pop fans, Gaga, you’re talented girl, but … but. Good song though but again I’m skipping. Too simple even for a country song.”

Jamison: “Massive gaga fan here, but i agree with Mike Wass. Underwhelming. She sets the bar for herself though so… (p.s. idgaf i loved artpop)”
