Justin Timberlake‘s concert film Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids premieres this week, and the singer says he’s dedicating the project to Prince.

“His influence, and I have this in common with I think every musician of my generation and the generations to come, his influence is all over everyone’s music and there’s so much that I feel like I’ve maybe consciously and unconsciously borrowed from him that it felt…right,” Timberlake said to E! News. “It just feels right to dedicate the film to him.”

Timberlake was heavily influenced by Prince and David Bowie back during his FutureSex/LoveSounds era, and in the days following Prince’s death earlier this year, the star posted a heartfelt tribute to the Purple One on Instagram.

Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids was directed by Jonathan Demme, and it depicts the last show of JT’s 20/20 Experience World Tour in Las Vegas. It premieres on Netflix Wednesday (October 12).
