Kanye West’s “God Level” Resurfaces: Listen

The Kanye West vaults have sprung a leak, with scraps and demos from the last few years hitting the web in recent weeks. Among other things, it’s led to the emergence of a version of “Famous” featuring Young Thug and an early version of a Kid Cudi track. And now his forgotten 2014 scrap “God Level” has surfaced.

Remember “God Level”? It was that rumbling track that showed up in an Adidas commercial a year after Yeezus. It dropped at a time when everyone was anxious for a supposed new album/Yeezus sequel, and it appeared to be the first real taste of that project. In May 2014, Hudson Mohawke even said he co-produced the track along with 88 Keys, Mike Dean and Noah G. It was real. And then it never came. And the album never came.

Well it’s back — or some unfinished version of it, at least. Hear the ominous track below, via Rap Dose.
