With the official arrival of Joanne (it already leaked) a matter of days away, Lady Gaga is in full promo mode. The 30-year-old just announced that she’s releasing “A-Yo” as the album’s next buzz single tomorrow (October 17) and shared the topless cover on Instagram. Of course, Mother Monster already performed the track on her Dive Bar Tour — so fans are already quite familiar with the honky tonk anthem. It’s a bold choice given the mixed response to country ballad “Million Reasons,” but Gaga is sticking to her guns.

“Can’t wait to rev you up faster than you can say Ferrari,” she croons in the live version of the song (below). “Tearin’ up the gravel, watching you unravel — now it’s a party.” That takes us to the chorus, which finds Gaga channelling Billy Ray Cyrus: “Light me up, I’m breathin’, mirror on the ceiling/A-YO, A-YO.” It’s something of an acquired taste, but the studio version — another Bloodpop, Mark Ronson and Lady Gaga co-production — could sound very different. Or not. We’ll know for sure in less than 24 hours.
