Two of what’s being said are the three final unreleased David Bowie recordings, “When I Met You” and “No Plan,” made their premiere this morning on UK radio — the former getting air time during Shaun Keaveny‘s BBC Radio 6 show (listen here at the 51:20 mark) and the latter on Jeremy Vine‘s BBC Radio 2 program (hear it at 46:00).

Both songs, along with a third, titled “Killing A Little Time,” feature on the upcoming Lazarus cast album (out October 21), and were co-produced by Bowie and Tony Visconti.

Interestingly, just days before Bowie’s death in January, an interview with Visconti was published in the Los Angeles Times wherein the producer hinted there were five songs from the sessions for Bowie’s final album, Blackstar, that had yet to be released.

In the same interview, Visconti, a longtime Bowie collaborator, talked about working with the music legend on his final two albums: “Blackstar and Next Day were stress-free, no problems. He comes prepared now. This is an old dog with new tricks. Now, by not announcing he’s making a record, he gives himself the time to be creative. Playing saxophone on these demos, bringing in radical guitar parts. He really is making music for himself these days. There’s no fluff about David Bowie anymore. There never was, really.”

David Bowie died on January 10, just two days after both the release of Blackstar and his 69th birthday, following a battle with cancer. By July, Blackstar had become the eighth best-selling album overall in 2016 so far, and the top-selling album on vinyl.
