Shawn Mendes Covers John Mayer’s “Dreaming With A Broken Heart”: Watch

The prophecy has officially been fulfilled – Shawn Mendes covered a John Mayer song. The 18-year-old singer (who put out his sophomore album Illuminate in September) covered Mayer’s Continuum standout “Dreaming With A Broken Heart” on Instagram, adding that the number contains his “favourite lyrics of all time.”
Mendes also posted another video that sheds light on how he writes songs.
“This is the song writing process for me,” the crooner says in the clip’s caption. “Some chords, melodies and random words that make no sense put together for a while until you find what you want to say from within the music.”
