Frank Ocean wore checkered Vans and brought his mom to President Barack Obama‘s final White House state dinner, and Gwen Stefani, the evening’s musical entertainment, brought date Blake Shelton. Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi was the honoree of the event, held Tuesday (October 18) evening on the White House’s South Lawn in Washington D.C.

Gwen got a warm welcome on stage by the out-going POTUS (watch above). She was also joined at one point by her beau Blake for a performance of their duet “Go Ahead And Break My Heart.”

The couple will be reunited in front of cameras once more in February, when Gwen returns to The Voice for her third non-consecutive season as a coach alongside Shelton, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys.
