Peking Duk Taps Elliphant For New Single “Stranger”

What do you get if you cross a Peking Duk with an Elliphant? The answer, somewhat unexpectedly, is a fucking banger. After exploding at home in 2014 with a pair of top 10 hits (“High” and “Take Me Over”), the dance duo set their sights on the US. Their rock-leaning international debut, “Say My Name,” diverted from their winning formula and failed to connect. Adam and Reuben obviously learned their lesson and come back swinging with future party-staple “Stranger.”

A lot of the appeal lies in the song’s upbeat tempo (a relief in the wake of moribund dance anthems like “Cold Water” and “Let Me Love You”) and the presence of Elliphant. The Swedish pop star gives the track a little attitude and a lot of crossover pop potential. “Walking home on a silent street, I just met you and you good company,” she sings of an imminent hook-up in the pre-chorus, before getting boastful: “Stranger could you walk me home, Even if we drift somehow… I’m never gonna sleep alone.” Listen below.
