Kesha Working With Grammy Winner
Kesha is working on a new song with a mystery Grammy winner. New music soon?

This is huge. Kesha has a new album on its way, according to Sony Music. “Creating a new album takes time, and everyone’s goal is to deliver a high quality album consistent with Kesha’s past releases,” the label said in a statement to BuzzFeed News. “We hope to share exciting new music with Kesha’s fans soon.”

Not only will this be Kesha’s first album in more than four years (the last radio heard of her was in 2013, with Pitbull‘s “Timber”), but it will be her first since she sued producer Dr. Luke for physical, emotional and sexual abuse. Earlier this year, a New York judge denied Kesha’s request to be released from her contract with Dr. Luke’s Sony imprint Kemosabe. Unless another judge sides with her, Kesha can only move on if she fulfills her multi-album deal.

Kesha turned in 28 songs this summer to Kemosabe, and has agreed to a list of producers with whom she’s willing to work instead, according to BuzzFeed News.

When asked for comment, Kesha’s attorney remained cautiously optimistic. “Kesha has been trying for six months to record and release new music,” he said to BuzzFeed News. “Only in the last month, after our last court hearing, has any progress been made, but it is hardly enough. Kesha still has received no commitments on promotion, songs, or even a release date.”
