Mark Ronson Reignites Lady Gaga & The Chainsmokers’ Beef Weeks Before The AMAs

And you thought the Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump battle was an ongoing nightmare…

So, let’s get this all straight: The Chainsmokers currently have the #1 single in the country, with “Closer.” Lady Gaga now has the top album this week, with Joanne. And Mark Ronson produced the latter. Alas, it seems all three parties are destined to not get along.

If you’re just tuning in on this pop beef, here’s the Cliff’s Notes version: One of the Chainsmokers bros said in a Rolling Stone interview that “Perfect Illusion,” Gaga’s lead Joanne single, “sucks.” In turn, Gaga sniped back on Twitter, “maybe u guys will like this 1 better,” when “A-YO” was released as a buzz single. Halsey, the vocalist on the Chainsmokers single, waded into the furor and smoothed things over by showing some camaraderie with Gaga — only to have Chainsmokers member Drew Taggert call Halsey a “bald bitch” in return on Twitter. (Taggert claimed his account was hacked.)

All this led to Grammy winner Ronson firing off this mic-drop tweet over the weekend in response to The Chainsmokers alerting their followers “we’re back” on the social media platform: “Back to being the charisma-bypassed champions of 2 bar Ableton loops? Well, smash it while it lasts, fellas!!” Yee-owch.

Ronson even threw an added dig at the duo’s newfound success by including a link to a site containing a list of various low-risk investments.

This at the very leasat should make things perfectly awkward at next month’s American Music Awards, where both Gaga and The Chainsmokers are set to perform.

Pop music…it’s just like high school!
