Bonnie McKee Interview
Bonnie McKee talks starting over, her 'Bombastic' EP and songwriting stories.

Well, this is a little unusual. Bonnie McKee completes a cumulative visual EP with a soft, pastel-colored video for “Easy.” It’s the fourth — and final — clip from Bombastic after the title track, “Wasted Youth” and “I Want It All.” It also happens to be her best to date. As much as I love the singer/songwriter’s trademark retro pastiche, this presents her in a sophisticated and sexy new light. All thoughts of Bon Bon’s (great but dated) “American Girl” era vanish with this refreshingly simple set-up.

Now that Bonnie has tied up all the loose ends with Bombastic, it’s time to bless us with something new. The hitmaker has kept us interested with remixes and leaks, but a new single would be nice. Apart from tinkering away at her debut LP, the ’80s aficionado has also been in the studio cooking up hits for other artists including Kylie Minogue. There’s no word yet if she’s working on Katy Perry’s new LP, but seems like a no-brainer after creating “Teenage Dream” and “Roar” together. Watch “Easy” up top.
